May memories w/ Heidi

Since arriving in Senegal, I've begun using Instagram to capture fun & memorable moments with Heidi, especially because she's changing & learning so much lately! Here is a look back at some our memories with her throughout the month of May...

2nd Wedding Anniversary!

 Philippe & I are celebrating 2 years of marriage today!

Definitely a reason to head to our favorite restaurant for a nice meal 

& to thank God for blessing us with each other & with our little one too!

as always, we had fun with our little tag along

and Mommy was even willing to share some of her chocolate mousse dessert... :-)

Dedication

Yesterday, it was a privilege for us to dedicate Heidi to the Lord at our church here in Senegal,

Apparently, our cat was busy while we were gone...

guess this is her way of welcoming us home :-/

Mother's Day 2013

We went out last night to celebrate my 1st Mother's Day. 

Am so blessed by the special gift God gave me in the form of this precious little girl!!

Meeting the "Big" Family

Earlier today we went to visit the "big" family - the term we use for Philippe's extended family members who live in Thiès. Not everyone was home when we were there, but Heidi did great meeting those that were and she charmed them by being her friendly little self.

After lunch we relaxed there for a little while before visiting some more friends of Philippe's in the area & then finally making our way home.

Mango Season

Here's Philippe showing me how to "cut" mangoes from the tree, African-style!

These 4 were ripe enough to be cut - and yep, that's Philippe's mango cutting device in the background. :-) These were the first we got to taste since returning to Senegal! And since they came from our own tree, that means we'll have many more to savor during this season. So excited!!
