Senegal...here we come!

Our bags are all packed and weighed (I won't tell you how many times my poor husband had to lift our luggage onto the scale to make sure each piece was within the weight limit! Needless to say, I'm so thankful for his strong arms & back!) and we're ready...

...well, ready or not...

in a way only God could've made possible,

we're on our way back to Senegal! :-)

her last sleep in this carseat

This is always a hard goodbye,
but I sure am glad that I'm not travelling alone this time!

stopping for something to eat at Harry's before we board the plane

just kidding!

On the plane, waiting for take off...
let the entertaining begin...

& the movies!

Well, the Lord was gracious to us because since the flight wasn't full, we were given a section of four seats all together just for ourselves! This made it possible to actually lay Heidi down when she fell asleep so the little girl did great, sleeping for almost 5 of the 7 hours we were in the air!!

And...we made it!

Senegal, we have arrived...
safe & sound, although still plum tuckered out

(these were taken in the car ride from the airport in Dakar to our home in Thiès, another hour away)

and this is pretty much the way we spent the rest of our 1st day in Senegal...

exhausted, but truly happy to be "home"! :-)

In the Grass

We put Heidi in the grass for the first time to see what she'd think of it...especially since where we're going, it'll be a while before she sees it again!

She seemed to enjoy it & was very interested in eating the flowers :-)

Family Photos

We needed some new, updated family photos to use for our prayer cards so we asked our friends, Reveé & Jules to take them for us before we head back to Senegal.
They turned out great, here are some of my favorites...

A Birthday, A Prayer & A Wedding

My birthday was extra-special this year because in the morning, Philippe & I were prayed for & officially "sent" off by our church to return to Senegal as missionaries now with SIM/Sports Friends.

Then in the afternoon, we got to celebrate by going to the wedding of our dear friends, Inez & John.

The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome...
I'm just so glad that we were still in PA to share this extra-special day with them!

9 months old!

Some of our favorite photos taken recently of a now 9 month old Heidi!

Snack time w/ Curious George

The boo-boo on her nose is from falling nose-first off the bed the other day :-(

ready for church

Not quite sleeping beauty,
but our beauty sleeping in one of her favorite positions :-)

Senegalese restaurant

Last night we shared traditional Senegalese dinner with my brother's family at the Senegalese restaurant, Kilimandjaro, in Philly. The food was a little spicy for the kids, but overall, it was fun to have them taste a little bit of Senegal!
